Each day, Kurt walks in with the two essentials for his job: a venti drip and a bottomless well of inspiration that seems to outdo itself from one day to the next. Maybe that's because he's always believed inspiration is where you find it. And fortunately for clients, Kurt finds it everywhere.
With a deep-rooted passion for anything that makes a creative connection, Kurt's strategic thinking and well-conceived solutions are invaluable tools that shape his work and consistently help clients leapfrog their competition both in brand awareness and profitability.
The art of merging impactful designs with effective communications is something he learned early on. Growing up near the great museums and art galleries in Chicago, Kurt was an apprentice for the owner of a successful design studio. He took to it like breathing.
Graduating from Northern Illinois University with a B.F.A. in visual communications, Kurt launched his advertising career as a Jr. Art Director at Young & Rubicam in the windy city where he worked on accounts including United Airlines, Citibank, Blockbuster and Taco Bell. He was quickly promoted to Sr. Art Director in Y&R's Southern California outpost working on the national Jaguar business. As part of a diverse creative team, Kurt developed his own design style, self-described as strategic, versatile and emotional. Leaving Y&R, he put that experience to good use on the national Toyota business at Rapp Collins Worldwide, which earned him a promotion to Associate Creative Director. Ready for new challenges beyond the automotive sector, Kurt began freelancing on a number of blue chip accounts at world-class agencies. Then in 2007, Kurt joined the Personette Group as Creative Director.
An award-winning creative talent — with hardware ranging from DMA Echos to EFFIES and REGGIES - Kurt is currently engaged, and lives with his fiancé Cassie and their dog Piper in Long Beach. Which explains the sand he tracks in everywhere.
